Influencing Factors Mental Health in Mothers During Pregnancy: Literature Review

Abstract

Introduction: Pregnancy is a process in a woman's life that causes several changes. These changes are influenced by three factors, namely physical factors, psychological factors and social, cultural and economic factors. Psychological factors can result in changes to mental health conditions in pregnancy. The thing that is quite dangerous is that pregnant women are at risk of experiencing mental health disorders. Purpose: The purpose of the literature review is to analyze the factors that influence mental health in mothers during pregnancy. Methods: The method used is literature study. The initial search begins by identifying journal articles that are relevant to the keywords (husband support, mental health, pregnancy). Article searches use Indonesian and English through databases such as Google Scholar and PubMed, which are limited to the 2018-2022 issue. The articles used in the preparation were national and international articles totaling 18 articles, namely 12 national articles and 6 international articles, which were then thoroughly analyzed. Results: The results of the study found that there were 6 factors that influenced mental health during pregnancy, including factors of husband's support, pandemic, age, parity, education and social support. Conclusion: Based on the above, it can be concluded that the occurrence of mental health disorders in mothers during pregnancy is a serious threat. So we have to pay attention to the factors that influence the incident. From the results of the analysis, it was found that husband's support was the biggest influencing factor, compared to pandemic factors, age, parity, education and social support can affect the mother's mental health during pregnancy. It is hoped that this will be noticed by both midwives as health workers and the government, and corrected in the future to improve the psychological condition of the mother so that every pregnant woman can go through her pregnancy well.
