Factors Affecting Antenatal Care Examination: Literature Review

Abstract

Background: At least 6 visits to Antenatal care, namely 2 times in Trimester 1, 1x in Trimester 2, and 3x in Trimester 3. Minimum 2x doctor's examination during visit 1 in Trimester 1 and during visit 5 in Trimester 3. Low knowledge of pregnant women about ANC visits will lead to low knowledge of participation pregnant women during the examination. There are two factors that influence knowledge of pregnancy, namely internal and external. Objective: This study aims to determine the factors that influence antenatal care examinations based on the results of previous studies. Methods: This research was conducted using a literature review method using several electronic media, Google Scholar, Pubmed, limited to the last 10 years from 2011-2021. The article used discusses the factors that affect antenatal care examinations. Results: from 23 articles there is a significant relationship between knowledge and behavior of ANC visits. Pregnant women are advised to increase awareness in conducting antenatal care visits. Conclusion: There are 23 national and international articles found that the factors that influence antenatal care examinations are due to lack of knowledge, attitudes or perceptions of mothers, support from health workers, and family support. Someone will be aware of the benefits and obedient in the knowledge of pregnancy checks will provide good health behavior.
