Factors Affecting Adolescent Menstrual Hygiene Management Behavior: Literature Review

Abstract
Introduction: Menstruation is a sign of puberty that occurs in women. When menstrual disorders can cause reproductive health problems, in a survey conducted by the World Health Organization (WHO), the impact of poor MHM and often faced by women during menstruation is experiencing vaginal discharge as much as 19%, itching in the genital area as much as 25%, and discomfort during menstruation 35%. Objectives: To determine the factors that influence the management of menstrual hygiene in adolescent girls. Methods: The method used in this article is a Literature Review. Researchers found several international and national literatures using Google Scholar and pubmed databases with the keywords menstrual hygiene management, adolescent girls, knowledge. Results: From the articles that have been reviewed, the factors that influence the management of menstrual hygiene are divided into 3 factors, namely adolescent personal factors, environmental factors, and social factors. Conclusion: From the results of the literature review, it can be seen that the factors that cause the management of hygiene management are the relationship between knowledge, being around people, support from friends and family, the role of health workers and infr astructure as the main role in managing hygiene management.
