Rahmawati M., Marliawati A.Y., Rosyidah H.

Abstract

Background: Health promotion is the process through which a health worker educates or informs the public in order to improve their health. In practice, midwives rarely give health promotion to women who are exclusively nursing. Goal: The goal of this study was to find out what factors contribute to midwives' poor levels of health promotion when it comes to exclusive breastfeeding. Methods: The narrative literature review method was employed in this study, using literature acquired from the Google Scholar database and the Pubmed database. Results: Time constraints, lack of knowledge of midwives, and lack of knowledge about media use and media limitations are factors that influence midwives in providing health promotion regarding exclusive breastfeeding, according to the findings of four articles reviewed using qualitative research methods from Indonesia, America, and Turkey. Conclusion: Based on the findings of the literature research, it was determined that time restrictions, a lack of knowledge and restricted media, as well as midwives' communication abilities, were factors that could affect the provision of health promotion promoting exclusive breastfeeding to mothers.
