Effectiveness of educational media in personal menstrual hygiene knowledge and behavior for Adolescent Girl: Literature Review

Abstract
Introduction: Menstruation is normal and regular every month. Knowledge and behavior of menstrual personal hygiene in adolescents are still lacking. The most important thing during menstruation is to maintain personal hygiene, especially the reproductive organs. Poor menstrual hygiene results in urinary tract infections, bleeding, reproductive tract infection, and skin irritation. Objective: To find out whether educational media provided to adolescents can influence knowledge and behavior of menstrual personal hygiene. Method: The method used in this article is a Literature Review. The researchers searched for several literature using the Google Scholar database with keywords menstrual personal hygiene, adolescent girls, education media and effectiveness, the articles taken were relevant articles in last 10 years. Result: From the articles that have been reviewed it can be seen that education on personal menstrual hygiene in adolescents can be provided through several media, including audiovisual, leaflets, and booklets. Conclusion: From the results of the literature review it can be concluded that the educational media have a significant influence of the knowledge and behavior of menstrual hygiene. The use as educational media such as audiovisual media, booklets, and leaflets is proven to have a significant influence on the knowledge and behavior pf adolescent girls about menstrual personal hygiene.
