The Effectiveness of BSE Education Media for Early Detection of Breast Cancer: Literature Review

Abstract
Introduction: Breast cancer is a serious health problem throughout the world that generally attacks women. The high number of breast cancer cases is directly proportional to the number of women who rarely or even do not perform BSE as a first step in early detection of breast cancer. Objective: This literature review study aims to analyze the effectiveness of several BSE educational media on early detection of breast cancer. Method: This article uses the Literature Review method. Data searches were carried out using Google Scholar and Pubmed databases published from 2018 to 2023. The number of articles reviewed in this literature review was 10 articles. Result: Based on the analysis of 10 articles, it was found that the media used in BSE education were audiovisual video media, leaflet media, WhatsApp media, and smartphone application media. Each of these media provides effective results as educational media. The use of this media can improve knowledge, attitudes, practices, skills and performance of BSE. Conclusion: It can be concluded that audiovisual video media, leaflet media, WhatsApp media, and smartphone application media have proven to be effective as BSE education media for early detection of breast cancer.
