Abstract
Partnerships among organizations have become a widespread and important way to improve performance and maintain competitive advantages and sustainability. However, in the implementation of the partnership, there is the potential for betrayal and conflict, which could damage or prevent the partnership from sustainability. This illustrates the existence of ethical issues in implementing partnerships. Therefore, this study formulates partnership principles based on Islamic ethical values, which refer to divine values (sourced from the Quran and Hadith) to build sustainable partnerships that mutually benefit each partner. This study used a qualitative approach, which started with a literature review and continued with a Forum Group Discussion with experts. This study found that Islamic ethical values are essential to maintaining the sustainability and benefits of partnerships. These values are trustworthiness, honesty, keeping promises (fulfilling contractual agreements), fairness and professionalism (Itqan), mutual help and doing good, and consistency (istiqamah). Islamic ethical values are more comprehensive in their dual dimensions: vertical (divine) and humanitarian (horizontal).
