School well-being of primary school students in North Semarang Subdistrict

Abstract
School well-being plays a crucial role in children's development, as it encompasses and enhances their emotional experiences at school. This research aims to describe primary students' school well-being in North Semarang Subdistrict, Central Java Province, Indonesia. This study employed a survey-based research design, involving 282 fourth- and fifth-grade students from five primary schools, selected through cluster random sampling. Data were collected using the School Well-being Scale. The item reliability and person reliability reached .99 and .75, respectively. Descriptive statistics and one-way analysis of variance, were employed to analyze the data. The findings showed that most students have good school well-being regarding having, loving, and being categories. As for the health category, most of them perceived that they were physically vulnerable. Furthermore, there was no significant difference in school well-being between girls and boys. In conclusion, students have good school well-being and positive experiences for having, loving, and being indicators, except for the health indicator.
